At Ayat Screen, we take your privacy seriously. This policy describes exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled.

1. Data We Collect & Why

a) Account & Authentication

When you sign in (Google or Anonymous), we store the following in our our secure server database:

  • Account ID — To uniquely identify your account
  • Display Name — From your Google account, or "Guest User" for anonymous sign-in
  • Email Address — From your Google account, or a placeholder for anonymous sign-in
  • Last Login Timestamp — To track session activity

Your UID is also sent to our crash reporting service to help diagnose issues tied to your session.

b) Location Data — On-Device Only

If you enable prayer-time features, we request GPS permission to calculate accurate prayer times for your city. If you deny GPS permission, the app uses an approximate IP-based location as a fallback.

Your latitude & longitude are stored only on your device and are NEVER uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party.

c) App Preferences — On-Device Only, Never Uploaded

Stored locally in SharedPreferences on your device:

  • Wallpaper automation settings
  • Content type (Quran / Bukhari / Duas)
  • Language & script preference
  • Font choice
  • Display mode
  • First launch date
  • Last applied wallpaper info
  • Premium status flag
  • Last prayer-time event triggered

d) Analytics & Crash Reporting (Server)

  • our analytics service: We log your login method (google or anonymous). No personal content is ever logged.
  • our crash reporting service: We collect crash reports containing your your account ID, device model, OS version, and stack traces. Used solely to fix bugs.

e) Advertising (Google our ad partner)

Ayat Screen displays ads via Google our ad partner. our ad partner may collect device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID) and ad interaction data to deliver relevant ads. This is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

2. Device Permissions We Request

  • SET_WALLPAPER
    To apply wallpapers to your home/lock screen.
  • ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
    For prayer-time calculation only. Never used for tracking.
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS
    For prayer-time alerts and daily Ayah reminders.
  • FOREGROUND_SERVICE, WAKE_LOCK, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS
    To keep the background wallpaper-update service running reliably.
  • INTERNET
    To download wallpapers, fetch Islamic content, and communicate with Server.

3. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Data is shared only with:

  • our secure servers — authentication, database, analytics, and crash reporting.
  • Google our ad partner — advertising only.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Your Server account data (UID, name, email, last login) is retained as long as your account exists. To request full deletion of your data, contact us at: sharoidtech@gmail.com

5. Children's Privacy

Ayat Screen does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
